The launch is just the beginning of cooperation between Turkey and SpaceX, as well as the culmination of Turkey's tireless efforts to attract global investments and major investment companies in Turkey, in a message of reassurance to the world that Turkish economy has become at the highest readiness for this type of investment.

 

The observers of the Turkish economy know that the growth rate of the Turkish economy for 2021 exceeded all the expectations, as the growth rate reached 11%, according to the report of the Turkish Statistics Authority, compared to 2020, a figure that was not among the expectations of international institutions such as the International Monetary Fund and the European Bank for Development and Reconstruction, the rate that Turkish President expected it in November 2020, noting at the time that the year 2021 will witness exceeding the growth rate of 10%, to be the highest growth among its peers in the Group of Twenty industrialized countries and the third among the countries of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD).

Despite the problems that the Turkish state faced after the Corona pandemic from economic stagnation and increasing inflation rates, this did not affect the strength of the Turkish market to attract foreign direct investment, already there are many multinational companies operating in Turkey, and there are other international companies intend to start operating in the sectors of furniture, textiles, pharmaceuticals and packaging, directing its production and investments to Turkey, due to the huge increase in the costs of long-distance transportation, which contributed to transforming Turkey as an investment point and production center for many foreign international companies.

The last of these companies that intend to establish a new headquarter in Turkey is the international IKEA furniture company, which is currently moving towards the manufacture and export of chairs, ware drop, kitchens, etc., also the "LBB" company working in the textile sector, which intends to transfer its production capacity from Asia to Turkey, and finally the German pharmaceutical company "Boehringer Ingelheim". , which announced its intention to make major investments in Turkey to localize its production in Turkey, in cooperation with the local "Abdi Ibrahim" company for pharmaceutical products, and the company announced its intention to manufacture medicines for diabetes, central nervous system and cardiovascular diseases in Turkey, in addition to conducting a set of Clinical research and pharmacological studies.

According to many press reports, Turkey's share in global foreign direct investment increased to about 1% in 2020, while it was about 0.6% in 2019, and Turkey aims to raise its share in global foreign direct investment to 1.5%, according to the government's foreign direct investment strategy document for the period. 2021-2023.

The increase in foreign direct investment is due to the strong performance of the growth of the Turkish economy and the structural reforms undertaken by Turkey over the past decade and a half. The total foreign direct investment to Turkey amounted to $225 billion in the period from 2003 to 2020, after it was only $15 billion for the year 2002, it caught the attention of investors to become the destination of many international investors.

4- Hyundai

Hyundai entered Turkey for the first time in 1990, and in 1995, following strong demand and high sales, the company established a factory in Izmit and started production in July 1997. The annual production capacity of the factory is 245,000 cars. The factory extends over an area of one million square meters, 700,000 square meters are allocated for the factory, and 108,000 square meters for production activities.

5- Pfizer Pharmaceuticals

Pfizer has been operating in Turkey since 1957, and the company operates in many activities besides being a pharmaceutical company, the number of Pfizer employees in Turkey is about 1000, and the company is located in Istanbul, one of the largest cities in Europe, the company exports products Pfizer Turkey to more than 10 European countries and Far Eastern countries

6- Unilever

Unilever's operations started in Turkey in 1952 in Istanbul, and the company's staff so far more than 5,000 employees working in eight factories across the country, Turkey is a regional headquarter for the company.
