All these names are given to the ground cistern, which is considered the largest among hundreds of ancient cisterns, it is located under the city of Istanbul with an area of ​​9,000 square meters, the length of the tank is 140 meters, and its width is 70 meters. It can be accessed using a staircase consisting of 52 steps, with a total of 338 columns, and each column is 4.80 meters apart.

Although the age of the church dates back to the era of the ancient city of Constantinople, specifically in the 6th century during the reign of the Byzantine Emperor Justinian I, it still maintains its shape until this moment.

The church was designed in the style of the famous Parisian tombs, and when you visit the cistern, you can see the head of Medusa with its intricate and famous carvings, and take the most wonderful pictures of the luxurious giant columns as they are reflected on the surface of the floors that made of very smooth tiles that captures the minds and eyes.

9- Rumeli Castle Siege

The oldest historical castles in Istanbul, it was built by Sultan Mehmed the Conqueror in the 16th century within 4 months to invade the city of Constantinople. It distinguished by its high fens and towers, as its height up to 82 meters, with its area 31.250 sqm, It is characterized by its compact design as a strong defensive fortress to protect the country from enemies attacks, and the castle consists of three main towers, in addition to its thick and sturdy walls and its thirteen watchtowers.

 

10- Galata Tower in Istanbul

Galata Tower is located in Taksim area. It was built in the year 1348 AD. It consists of 9 floors. The height of the tower from the ground to the top of its head is 69.90 meters. As for the story of the tower, some say that it is the place chosen by Hazfran Ahmed Shalabi, to try his first attempt to fly in the 17th century, through artificial wings that he separated and installed himself.

While some other stories said that Ismail Jawhari, who lived in the 10th century AD, was the first inspirer for Shalaby to experiment with it, as Shalaby worked on analyzing the results reached by Jawhari, as well as examining the durability of the wings in the Ok Meydani area in Istanbul, before the experience of flight.

In 2013, The tower was listed on the Temporary World Heritage, and includes a spiral staircase, a small museum displaying photographs, and information about the history and origin of the tower.
