In the modern era, Silivri was part of Greece on July 20, 1920, and the Italians seized it from the retreating Greek forces on October 22, 1922, but in November 1922, the Turkish forces entered Silivri to become part of the Chatalja Province between 1923-1926 and it was annexed to Istanbul in 1926.

Silivri extends along the Marmara Sea, it is also considered a pristine rural area, as it combines the green areas along with its sea coasts, the district that is provided by all services, is characterized by calm and purity of the weather away from the noise and pollution of the city center.
